Singapore Rant: ERP rates cut at 15 gantries and 5 new gantries won’t be switched on

Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates at the newly switched on gantries along the Singapore River Line and Chinatown areas will be cut, starting September 29. Also, of the six new additional gantries planned for November, only one will be turned on.

When the Land Transport Authority (LTA) introduced new gantries along the Singapore River line in July, there was an outcry from a number of Chinatown businesses, who complained of a slump in sales.

The authorities then met with businessmen and said they would push up their quarterly traffic conditions review.Now the authorities said there’s been marked traffic improvements.So they are decreasing the rates at 15 gantries in the CBD—Chinatown—Singapore River line area by a dollar from Monday, bringing the rate to S$1.

Food Rant: Alaturka Turkish & Mediterranean Cuisine

Went down to Bussorah Street to try out a turkish restaurant. I ordered a Karisik Kebab and a Turkish Mint Tea. There were basically beef sausages, lamb chops and kebabs(beef). The meat felt overcooked but was still mostly tender and not bad. The tea was a so-so. Overall, it was a nice place to eat at. Not FABULOUSLY nice but still quite nice.
(I originally wanted to make this blog a food blog, but after much pondering i decided that editing pictures of batman and posting links to a cat with no face was the more logical choice.)

Ruube Rant: New Stuff

Had to call in sick today, down with a bad cold. But the drowsy medicine ain't making me drowsy so I'm here ranting.
Got a pair of Denon headphones yesterday, real awesome. Purchased them at Jaben Network after my friend introduced them to me (Here's his review and i got the white ones btw). So now with my cowon d2 player and denon heads, all thats left to complete my set is a Go-Vibe amp with black gate caps modded with litium batteries plus plasma energy added with nuclear boosters, titanium casing, wifi capabilities, GPRS, ERP and a hello kitty sticker.

News Rant: Large Hadron Collider Breaks Down

The experiment with the Large Hadron Collider may be delayed indefinitely.

Plans to begin smashing particles at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) may be delayed after a magnet failure forced engineers to halt work.

The failure, known as a quench, caused around 100 of the LHC's super-cooled magnets to heat up by as much as 100C.

Comic Rant: Comics Read This Week

HI TRUE BELIEVERS, couple of interesting comics i read this week(I'm behind time on my comics so some of these comics might be outdated and don't worry no spoilers).
Ultimate Origins #4, the little statue thingys popping up all over town turn out to be watchers (well duh !), starting to get exciting here since I didn't see any of them during the Galactus saga so something really big should be starting.
Ultimate X-men & Fantastic Four Annual, a group of people who appear to be Wolverine, Kitty Pride, Rogue and an alternate version of Captain America attack the Fantastic Four.
The Amazing Spiderman #570, Spiderman, the Thunderbolts, Anti-Venom and one other clash in this comic, can't wait for the next comic. EXCELSIOR !

Game Rant: Street Fighter 4

After a hard day studying I decided to relax so I headed down to bugis to hit the arcade where my friends informed me that Street Fighter IV was released. I went to try my hand at the game (turns out I really suck at it ( ¬_¬) ). Watched a friend of mine use Zangief getting 25 wins omg.

I was allowed to use Zangief during a few of his rounds and managed to win alittle (haha so I'm not really THAT sucky). There was this one thing that was really hilarious, whenever we did a Final Atomic Buster on someone the whole game would slow down and Zangief would do like sorta a taunt, the funny part was that the character in game would also change their expression as they are hit by the move( sorta like a (*0*) kinda face) couldn't stop laughing then.

Managed to get alittle of the game mechanics during the game. In the game there are 2 power bars on the bottom of the screen, one blue and one green. A blue bar section allows you to perform Ex moves (Street Fighter III Third Strike) and a full blue bar allows for a super move while the green bar will allow for a super move stronger than the one used with the blue bar. The new thing added in the game is the Med Punch+Kick move which allows one to counter a hit and give a blow back. Though I am still not too sure on how it works but it seems that after being hit by one the opponent can be juggled into a combo.

Well thats all I managed to get from playing the game abit, with my exams around the corner i won't be able to play much (T-T ) hope my exams will end sooner so i can play haha.
